Pat Robertson Has Heard From God - millions will suffer
In what has become an annual tradition, religious broadcaster Pat Robertson predicted Tuesday that a terrorist attack on the United States would result in "mass killing" late in 2007. Robertson said God told him that major cities and millions of people will be affected by the attack, which could take place after September.

From the Kansas City Star this morning.

On thing is for certain: if Robertson says this came from God you can be sure it didn't. It came from somewhere in his sick, depraved mind.

1. If it does happen (even on a small scale) then he gains more followers, if it doesn't
his followers have the attention/memory spans of gnats.

The asshole makes up shit like this for a reason...

3. If he says it every year....
It's bound to come true sooner or later. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

2. Isn't there a town in Pennsylvania
that should be groaning under the weight of locusts and drowned in a sea of blood for getting creationism out of the school curriculum?

He predicted that too.

4. Maybe he does drugs!
He probably uses magic mushrooms and then sits down and waits to hear from God.

What an oddball.

18. Well, no, I think it's obvious he doesn't do that.
The mushrooms generally provide much more accurate information than Robertson ever seems to get.

32. He soesn't seem to be very accurate does he?
I guess we really have a 50/50 chance of another attack - it will either happen or it won't.

I personally don't think it will happen. But I'm an optimist by nature.

16. You think he is just trying to get people to give up their savings?
Why hold on to your money if we are all going to be destroyed in a terrorist attack?

I'm not usre but I think his whole organization is just going down the tubes. I don't think he is very popular any more - not like he used to be.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - In another in a series of notable pronouncements, religious broadcaster Pat Robertson says God told him storms and possibly a tsunami will hit America's coastline this year.

Tue, Jan 4, 2005 6:56pm EST
On the January 3 edition of Christian Broadcasting Network's The 700 Club, Reverend Pat Robertson, host and Christian Coalition of America founder, made predictions for the New Year based on what he said God told him during a recent prayer retreat. Robertson said that God told him: "I will remove judges from the Supreme Court quickly, and their successors will refuse to sanction the attacks on religious faith." Robertson also said that he "heard it from the Lord" that President Bush will have Social Security and tax reform passed and that Muslims will turn to Jesus Christ.

Meanwhile, in Virginia, Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson warned residents of Dover, "If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God. You just rejected Him from your city. And don't wonder why He hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for His help, because he might not be there." Later, Robertson issued a statement explaining that "our spiritual actions have consequences. ... God is tolerant and loving, but we can't keep sticking our finger in his eye forever."

Now why isn't that on the front page of every newspaper in the USA? Robertson's plans to kill millions is on CNN.com, USA Today and MSNBC's web sites as well. Why?

23. Millions have already suffered
as a result of stupidly opening their pocketbooks to help this snake oil salesman remain on the public airwaves.

Only con-servatives are allowed to make such bombastic statements as calling for the assassination of others or exploding a nuclear device over a government institution, or calling for a government in which ONLY wingnut-approved "Christians" are allowed to hold public office.

The rest of us aren't allowed to make such free speech statements about con-servatives, and most certainly not about the religious cults they support.

This country suffers every day that these wingnuts control the public airwaves.

25. "I assure you that I am going to be the next president of the US"
My favorite :sarcasm:

1988 prediction by P.R.,

"I assure you that I am going to be the next president of the United States," After trailing George H.W. Bush and Senator Bob Dole in the Republican primaries, Robertson's 1988 presidential campaign ended before the Republican convention. A February 2004 article in Church & State magazine (published by Americans United for Separation of Church and State) noted several Robertson predictions that turned out to be false, including that Russia would invade Israel in 1982, and that there would be a worldwide economic collapse in 1985. The article went on to mention that "In his 1991 book, The New World Order, Robertson predicted that U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller would be elected president in 1996."

33. Why
What is God's purpose in telling Robertson this? Is Robertson going to save millions with this dire warning? Why would God tell Robertson such a thing? If God is good then what good is to come from this? Is this meant to terrify Americans? Is Robertson using terroristic tactics? Does God want Americans terrified? Does God no longer want Peace and Godd Will toward Mankind? Why? To what purpose? Or should we never question?
