Cutting off the money is the next step |
|
The barbaric hanging of Saddam was heard around the world. Over 3000 troops have died. 16,000+ Iraqis have died in the last year alone. Bush is determined to keep on with his war no matter the cost. Plans to send 20,000 more targets to Iraq.
Keith Olbermann gives another blistering and moving commentary on bush and this senseless war.
I can't express enough at how sick I feel. My stomach is literally churning after watching KO's special comment. The anger and sadness has settled deep in the pit of my stomach. Keith eloquently spoke truth to power as he usually does. His outrage is mine and the sickness of it has knotted up my gut.
My hope is that somehow bush can be stopped before sending even more of our troops to this ungodly war. It's time to cut off the money.

1. republiks will call us terrorist traitors for cutting the funding |
|
They'll say we hate the troops, and won't give them the tools they need to fight for Iraq's freedom, bla bla bla bla.
It's going to get real ugly.

3. And no one will listen to the one Dem trying to explain it |
|
Dennis Kucinich. The war is funded enough right now to bring them home. Cut off funding and make that the only option.

Sorry, much better to start with Senator Leahy's proposed amendment in the Senate to freeze funding to current troop levels in order to prevent a "surge". Kucinich's proposal won't get the time of day.

4. I respectfully disagree. |
|
Cut the money spigot - leave enough in the budget to get them home safely & buy enough C-4 to blow all heavy weapons/equipment in place.

6. There isn't any need to do that. |
|
All of the heavy equipment (tanks, airplanes, etc) can either move themselves back to Kuwait or be flown out.
We will leave the mess halls and barracks and coke machines behind.
