Articulate callers who were calling for Impeachment, Oversight of Bush and end to Iraq. I don't know how they got through but the usual phone tree of different numbers for Repugs, Dems and Indies or Other wasn't in place that I could see for WJ this a.m. Callers complained about C-Span putting on Repugs followed by Conservative Think Tank Ops instead of Dems. Woman caller who said she was life-long Repug but voted Dem in Mid-Terms wanted a new phone line added for "Neo-Cons," because she said they aren't Repugs but another whole party that she thinks needs to be identified. Folks angry about immigration and job loss and offshoring and mult-national corporations and again that C-Span isn't covering what's REALLY going on out there.
Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-Fl) the new House Deputy Whip was on and she said that Congress was not going to impeach and she got an ear full. Then a reporter for "Congressional Quarterly" was on and he got an earful about how Homeland Security Dept. is a sham...that the "9/11" Commission didn't fully investigate what really happened. The reporter, Peter Yoest, said that while there are "conspiracy theories" about "9/11" that there are "so many people who believe them." Other discussion about how the Dems are going to try to get Congressional oversight of Department of Homeland Security but that it's not likely they will be able to achieve it.
Steve Scully's ears must be burning from the calls. :D
