Any one know the maximun age to join the service?
I have just been to the Army website and if there is anything for a 52 year old I will take it.

15K a year looks pretty damn good to me after 5 years of fruitless job searching and no income at all.

I wish to GOD there was a job core where I could just go work all day and have room and board provided.

thanks for any suggestions or imput. Never in my life would I have imagened that while being in good health I would not be able to find ANY job.

thanks

1. You may be out of luck.
Last I heard was that 42 was their age ceiling.

and it only drops from there:

Active Army - 42
Army Reserves - 42
Active Air Force - 27
Air Force Reserve - 34
Active Navy - 34
Naval Reserves - 39
Active Marines - 28
Marine Corps Reserve - 29

6. thats why I think I might be able to skirt in.
I am dead already, so catching a bullett over there wouldnt be such a bad thing, maybe I could save the life of a younger personn that may have a future. Mines gone and I know it

7. If you have prior service
you subtract the years of prior service from your actual age. If that is 42 or below I think you can re-enlist. You have to be able to complete 20 years by age 62.

10. I served 15 years
and have no desire to return. I'll be 60 soon and KBR tried to recruit me to do my old job at an obscene salary. Couldn't pay me enough to go back into that shit.

14. If you have any skills in demand, I'd do Blackwater, Halliburton, or KBR

if I were ok with going into a war zone.

16. they did raise the age into the 40s but not quite enough for you
not knowing what your skills are, if you're highly skilled halliburton is offering wages considerably above army scale

good luck, my friend

age discrimination is real, i'm younger than you and don't even bother to dream of having a real job again

they just don't want us on their health benefit plans between the years of 45 or so and when we're eligible for medicare

we need universal health care for ALL ages, it would cut down on a lot of this
