WASHINGTON - President Bush said Wednesday he’ll submit a five-year budget proposal that will balance the federal budget by 2012 and called on Congress to sharply cut back on costly pet projects hidden in spending bills.

initiatives, drug program that is making big Pharm rich, etc.

for paying off the debt and getting National health care

4. I'm wondering if he's using creative mathematics

to come up with this budget balancing in 5 years trick. I read somewhere that the cost of Iraq isn't even shown in the budget--that would be like a dieter "not counting" the 12 hot fudge sundaes they eat every day.....

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush said Wednesday he'll submit a proposal to balance the budget in five years and exhorted Congress to "end the dead of night process" of quietly tucking expensive pet projects into spending bills.

(That dead of the night process was trademark Republics leading the way. Democrats were more often that not prevented from participating in the process and replaced by lobbyists.)
