The first 100 hours...
After long pledging a new era of civility and openness in the House, Democrats said they would not allow Republicans the chance to amend any of the first half-dozen bills to be brought to a vote during the first 100 hours of the new Congress. The measures relate to the minimum wage, stem cell research, energy, student loans and recommendations by the commission that investigated the terrorist attacks of 2001.

"We view the first 100 hours as essentially a mandate from the American people," Hoyer told reporters, explaining the decision to safeguard those measures from Republican attack.

It's a good start. Hearings, subpoenas and investigations will follow. The repukes won't get away with the bullshit any longer.

1. They better shut the Iraqi war down
That's the main issue. They try to run and hide from it and they will be out in 2008.

2. I think they'll try...
bush still has control of the military. Impeaching both bush and cheney would be a good way to go.

3. We really need to watch them and keep their "spine" in place should they waver.

5. Maybe it's wrong to feel this way but
I am getting such a kick out of hearing the repukes whine and squirm about being shut out. It's really funny, the shoe on the other foot hurts, poor things.
I think the Dems got wind of the rumors of how they planned to muck things up and try to make their first 100 hr plans fail. This is the first step in their fight, hope they keep it up.

6. Good point
The W Congress acted without any input from the democrats. They acted as if the only Americans they were representing were the far right wingers. They ignored moderate America completely.

Let them know how it feels. Maybe they'll change.
