I think it sounds a little condescending...

5. I don't think it sounds condescending at all.
I'm old enough to remember how limited choices for women used to be and how hard it was to break out of those roles into new areas of endeavor. I think she's pretty much speaking to the experience of women of our generation, and I have no problem with it.
