Iraq: The nightmare of sham democracy
http://www.thenewanatolian.com/opinion-20661.html

Washington-- It's late Friday night. The breaking news is just in: "Saddam Hussein has been executed!"

CNN's star anchor Anderson Cooper has Iraqi National Security Advisor Muwaffak al-Rubai on the line, who joyfully describes how the former dictator was eliminated by his rivals just minutes earlier. The interview demonstrates effectively the difference in the political cultures of the interviewer and the Iraqi politician.

Cooper wants to know how long it took for Saddam to definitively die. This is a question which, after each execution in the U.S., concerns the millions of Americans opposed to capital punishment.

Al-Rubai doesn't even understand the question. It's not important for him how long it took, and thus how long the victim had to suffer. Even after insistent questioning, he still keeps saying that whole procedure took about a half-hour.

Then he adds that it's just normal that some of the executioners were dancing around the dead body.
