Ultimatum to the Democrats: Do what I say or don't.

Me, I'm just one guy. Mortgage, married with child, two paid-for vehicles. Both of us adults in college and me with the full-time job teaching special ed in middle school, so day care. I'm the "raging leftist" in the family.

I've always been a Democrat. Voted for Nader twice - dock me whatever you want, I'm not sorry. I'm a Democrat because I'm a liberal, not vice versa. But I've always been a Democrat. Never voted Repub. I don't plan to start now.

So hey, now you're in the majority! We're in the majority! Woohoo!!! It's party time! It's a new era - Pelosi and Reid, Reid and Pelosi.

Truth is, guys, that I don't expect all that great a difference. I hope you'll prove me wrong. I want you to prove me wrong. But I don't expect much rollback of the poison of the Bush years.

But what can I do? I'm just one guy with a mortgage, a wife and a 15-month-old boy who, when I ask him what the lion says, says "Rawr!". I'll tell you now that my boy won't be going to fight idiot wars in the Middle East as long as I draw breath. We're your Democratic America, y'all. Do what I say or not, but figure it the fuck out soon.
