5. Wrong Premise, what if Churchill decided to Attack the USSR in 1940??
The right KNEW that the Communists were the REAL ENEMY, not those hard working Japanese and Germans. Thus Bush after Paris fell to Hitler in May 1940, would have Ordered an attack against the "Real Enemy" i.e. Russia. Thus Bush in charge of Britain in 1940 would have invaded Russia via Murmansk while telling Hitler to stay out of "Free Russia". Then about March 1945, with Hitler now in solid control of everything between the North Sea and the Black Sea, with his Army being destroyed in Russia decided that maybe he should Attack Germany. And also with his Army destroyed maybe having attacked Russia in 1940 was a mistake, but refusing to give up Bush's plan to control Russia, even if that is impossible, and while leaving Hitler a free hand elsewhere in Europe.

Leadership means looking at your options and taking the best one, not the one you want. Churchill knew Russia, and knew it would be a real enemy, but removing Stalin by Military means was impossible and without Stalin (after the fall of France in June 1940) the only way to defeat Hitler was with the Red Army and Churchill, as a student of History, knew that.

Bush, who is NOT a student of History, only knew he wanted the oil of Iraq, that the Iraqi people would fight to keep control of their own oil by means of a Guerrilla War was something Bush did not want to know for he had no way to defeat such an enemy. Now Bush wants to change "The Plan", basically Bush wants to somehow save his bad decision to invade Iraq, thus he wants a new "The Plan". The problem is the only reasonable course of Action is a complete withdraw, something Bush rejects.
