2. I found it hilarious, but...

It's against the law to put any sort of political statement on the front side of any piece of mail, so it'll be returned to you or just not delivered. I found that out the hard way when I was a teen, and was putting "Mondale/Ferraro" campaign stickers on the front of letters to my penpals, back in 1984. :(

One thing you can do that IS legal (because most people just don't get it) is this: Only buy stamps with the US flag on them. Put them on the envelopes upside-down--as if you're waving the flag upside-down, the way you do in a national crisis. ;)
