Arianna@HuffPo: Dem leaders to make major statement on Iraq tomorrow
We're still on the Hill, and the great news of the day -- indeed, the best news we've heard all week-- is that tomorrow Democratic Congressional leaders will come out with a strong statement on troop escalation, laying down a marker and establishing the Democratic position on what has become the first critical decision on the war in Iraq facing the 110th Congress.

5. I got the impression he said that because he seemed disappointed by the recent remarks

made by Democrats (Levin) about going along with the surge. I know he's against the Iraq occupation.

3. Everyone is waiting for bush to speak on Iraq next week, so
why not beat him to the "punch" and set-out a basic plan of moving our troops from the heart of the sectarian fighting. Make it clear that we are taking sides by fighting a sectarian war. Saudis, Syria (most of the Muslim countries) are concerned for the Sunnis and Iran and a scattering of other Muslim ares are concerned for the Shiite. Who are we suppose to shoot? Shiite or Sunni insurgents? That is the question. Both sides are shooting at us! We are stirring up both sides, in other words fanning the fire in that country.

Well, that's my take. Hope this story is true. Democrats will make Large points by taking the offense rather than defense. Maybe throw the bushies off balance.
