7. Not yet, but I think "despot" fits
Edited on Fri Jan-05-07 09:15 AM by TechBear_Seattle
From the Wikipedia article on despotism:

Despotism is a form of government by a single authority, either an individual or tightly knit group, which rules with absolute political power. In its classical form, a despotism is a state where one single man, called a Despot, wields all the power and authority, and everyone else is considered as his slave. This form of despotism was the first known form of statehood and civilization; the Pharaoh of Egypt is a hallmark of a classical Despot.

5. Putting in a Navy Admiral at Central Command?
Edited on Fri Jan-05-07 09:02 AM by fasttense
I've worked for some very good Admirals but I wouldn't want them directing a ground war. I think bush wants someone who doesn't know much about ground wars so they will take their direction from him and not think for themselves.

But my experience with Admirals has been that they tend to be pretty independent thinkers. We'll see.

6. If memory serves
CENTCOM also has operational control of Navy Ships in the region. This may be a signal of bush's new and improved approach to fucking things up.

9. The upcoming Iran war
Will be primarily a naval operation so it makes sense to have an admiral at CENTCOM.

13. Weren't two of the 911 hijackers trained at the Pensacola Naval Air Base?
Maybe this conspiracy goes deeper than we can imagine. I suspect elements within the military pushed for 911 in order to further their agenda. If so, Bush may have just fingered the architect of 911 to run this war. Sounds crazy, but I was on the PNAB shortly after 911 and overheard a conversation between naval officers about Iraq. What struck me at the time was how crazy-right-wing these guys sounded.

14. "Grosster Feldherr Aller Zeit" = GROFAZ
"Greatest Commander of all time" - it was one of Hitler's official praise names.

15. GROFAZ is an acronym of the German for
"the greatest military commander of all time."

Grosster Feldherr Aller Zeiten , or Greatest Military Genius of all Times. GROFAZ

A PR title which Hitler bestowed upon himself, once he decided that he knew more than all of his general officers.
