Is George W. Bush is totally delusional?
Edited on Fri Jan-05-07 03:34 PM by originalpckelly
What if he really thinks he's talking to God?

What if these weird twitches are not the result of alcoholism or cocaine addiction, but some type of mental illness?

Would this not be consistent with his absolutely delusional (not in the hyperbole sense) decision to commit troops to battle in a war which many believe is now un-winnable?

Have we come to the point where George W. Bush may not be fit mentally to be President?

Is his cabinet and the VP covering this up for political reasons?

We aren't really psychiatrists, nor would we be able to diagnose him by video, but don't these symptoms sound like him:

"Grandiose delusion: This occurs when a person’s belief about his/her own importance or station in life is grossly out of proportion to what is really true. For instance, a person might believe that he/she is Jesus Christ."

http://www.athealth.com/Consumer/disorders/Psychotic.html

He is important, but he's not talking to God.

13. Talking to god isn't the problem, as millions of religious people
around the world will tell you.

We know people are delusional when god starts talking back.

So yes, he's delusional, even if his god happens to be Sun Myung Moon.

17. I think he did say something about God telling him to do
something, was it invading Iraq? Or am I delusional. But one of his famous gaffes involved this subject.

7. Well, I don't think we're being serious enough about this...
what would happen if he decides to "fulfill" his destiny and start some kind of nuclear war?

Well, OF COURSE he thinks he's hearing from God! I'm serious.
I know these type of people and they're always walking around saying, "God, told me....." If I ever find one that really does seem to be speaking for God, I'll let you know. Probably around the time hell freezes over.

He is unfit for office. But then we'd get Cheney who is equally mentally deranged.

8. No
And people always speculate only what you did. But my opinion is this:

He is at the emotional age of a four year old. It has nothing to do with being stupid or crazy or drugs past or present.

He wants what he wants dammit! And he will not give up. The boy was NEVER EVER given a time out. UNLESS forced to quit this war, he will never ever do so. And as we know, Cheney wants it more than he does-though Cheney is rational enough to know it's lost-see Biden thread on here. Bush would kill everyone just because he can, because he CAN.

It's that juvenile. Boy king. That's what happens when narcissists are made president and never held to account.

10. But about that "I hear God" bit he talked about a few years ago...
I don't recall Raygun talking like that. Did he? He may have oversimplified, by calling the USSR the "evil empire" but he never said he talked to God, did he?

I think this is kind of out there, and I started thinking about it after someone posted about "coke jaw" his grinding of teeth. But I know that's not just a symptom of drug addiction, but mental illness.

I really don't mean to exaggerate either, I'm really beginning to think this man is totally unfit to be President.

I had read the book--it's great to read more from this guy in an interview from last week.

Chilling, but fascinating stuff.

We are in such deep shit...

20. Interesting article, although the Dr. speaks of bush defending
himself against uncaring or unfeeling parents especially during the time of his sister's death. (oversimplified or not real accurate description of Dr.s diagnosis but in that area). Jeb was just a baby so his mom was dealing with the death of a child and a 3 mo. old child and George. So George might have felt neglected during this time. Many people go through childhood traumas and don't become sociopaths. It probably emphasized his already messed up head.

What he said was that George can't think.

He just needs to disagree with any kind of authority including the voting public that he sees as an authority figure. Sounds like with this prognosis that we are headed to some serious bombing in the near future since most of the advice he is getting says don't escalate. Scary huh?

11. He is, I think, basically just a small, ineffective
man who was thrust upon us by an equally delusional Supreme Court. Then, four years later the crooks were in charge and threw the monkey wrenchs into the voting machines. He never amounted to a hill of beans throughout his life but thought he did. A dirty trick was played upon the American people and we have been paying for it for 6 years. How anyone with an ounce of common sense can think this man is a "leader" is beyond me. And if he talks to God he can join Pat Robertson and go on the road with his snake oil repertory theater.

14. Yes. Many knew Nixon had issues, like maybe neurotic,
and Reagan had lapses of memory and not very bright, but, neither were mentally ill. Bush appears to speak and act very weird, see, not being a shrink type I don't know the terminology. When he is speaking without a written speech in front of him he bumbles badly and makes unusual faces, arrogant demeanor, talking to the American people like we are children and don't understand things!! He insults his audience with unbelievable babble, repeats his babble twice to be sure we get it.

Hitler was called a madman. What should we call our leader that is making wars all over the world because there is a small faction/group of people that want to take over the world. Now there is serious talk about taking out the nuke facilities in Iran!

We are fighting in Iraq where Sunnis are fighting Shiites and visa versa, and our troops are shooting at both groups. Our troops do not know who the enemy is. They must be busting into homes and bldg. looking for weapons. Then we drop bombs from on high on some bldg. that might have the bad guys or bombs stashed, how goofy is that? These tactics won't stop this civil war.

All bush can say is "surge". Remember, he said he was going to be a Bold Leader.

Dick Cheney and Karl Rove put all the words in his mouth that are even close to coherent.
