O’Reilly "Pelosi is About the Most Liberal Woman In The World’"
O’Reilly Criticizes Pre-Judging Pelosi, Then Attacks Her As ‘The Most Liberal Woman In The World’
Last night, Bill O’Reilly opened a discussion about new House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) by pointing out that “a lot of conservatives are already hammering Ms. Pelosi.” O’Reilly said, “I don’t think that’s fair. … I don’t think it’s fair just to go in with a hammer on Nancy Pelosi. Let’s see what she’s got, what they’ll do.”

Moments later, during the same segment, O’Reilly attacked Pelosi as “the most liberal woman in the world.”

O’Reilly has previously (and falsely) bragged about coining the term “San Francisco Values,” which he apparently first used “during the October 2 broadcast of Westwood One’s The Radio Factor, when he called Pelosi a ‘far-left secular-progressive bomb thrower‘ and warned that ‘f you vote for the Democrats and if they get a majority in the House of Representatives and the Senate,’ then ‘you bring to America San Francisco values.’”

Full transcript:

O’REILLY: Alright, you know, a lot of conservatives are already hammering Ms. Pelosi. I don’t think that’s fair. I obviously don’t — you know, she and I don’t get along real well. If you read Culture Warrior, you’ll get a good laugh out of a —

MORRIS: Oh, thanks for the Culture Warrior mug you sent me, Bill.

O’REILLY: It’s okay. But I don’t think it’s fair just to go in with a hammer on Nancy Pelosi. Let’s see what she’s got, what they’ll do.

+++++

MORRIS: You’re going to see the Howard Dean element of the Democratic Party increasingly breaking away from the Pelosi mainstream of the Party.

O’REILLY: Well, Pelosi is about the most liberal woman in the world. You would think that she would embrace the Howard Dean tactics, but she doesn’t seem to be doing that.

1. Bob Somerby has a nice series on this totally unsubstantied yet prevalent claim
Amy Goodman probably got a chill when he said that. :D

2. I'm sorry. O'Really is dreadfully mistaken.
I, JulieRB, am the "Most Liberal Woman In The World," and I bitterly resent his allowing Madame Speaker to usurp my crown.

C'mon, Bill. I don't think you have the stones to feature me on your show.

4. Them are fighting words, Julie
I am here representing my wife, Ms. Shoutandscream, who is the most liberal woman in the world. Both you and O'Reilly owe her a big apology!

3. O'Reilly should channel George Washington
"The Citizens of the United States of America have a right to applaud themselves for giving to Mankind examples of an enlarged and liberal policy: a policy worthy of imitation."

"I was in hopes that the enlightened and liberal policy, which has marked the present age, would at least have reconciled Christians of every denomination so far that we should never again see the religious disputes carried to such a pitch as to endanger the peace of society."

"Harmony, liberal intercourse with all nations, are recommended by policy, humanity, and interest."

"As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality."

"The liberality of sentiment toward each other, which marks every political and religious denomination of men in this country, stands unparalleled in the history of nations."

5. ORly used to be semi-coherent
In fact I used to agree with some of his stuff. Now, however, he's just another wingnut like Limbaugh, Coulter, Robertson, and Falwell.

The only people who think calling someone a liberal is an insult are those with an IQ lower than their shoe size. It's like "accusing" someone of being an intellectual, or a book reader, or a thinker.

7. Statements like that make me think one thing...
... that Communist and Anarchist women aren't making themselves heard.

Either that, or Bill Orally has no idea what the actual definition of liberal is and is just using it as a convenient slur to drive his knuckle dragging, shit throwing audience into a frenzy.

12. O'Reilly is a coward, a liar and a bully.
He's a coward because he's afraid to consider views other than his own, despite his "no spin" horseshit. He's a liar about being anything other than an entertainer and a ratings whore. And his bullying is simply his arrogant way of pronouncing the truth as whatever he says it is, all the while claiming to be some kind of Everyman.

What a worthless sack of shit. I wish he'd contact me and challenge these assertions.

he had Sunsara Taylor, of the Revolutionary Communist Party on his show? Now I know Maoist aren't really liberals, but usually folks like Bill O'Reiliey blend them together.
