McCain/Lieberman this sounds like the MSM dream ticket
I saw McCain and Lieberman this morning on C-Span and I had that scary thought. You take the what the MSM likes to portray as the Maverick Republican and the Maverick Democrat and they would be their dream team. I don't think McCain could get the Republican nomination and these two just might team up as independents. What do you think?

1. It might be good for us if there is a Republican nominee,
...and also a man whose been a famous Republican nominee for decades running as an Independent.

Split the conservatives.

5. I believe that LIEberman is loosing support with his present image
It will surely and finally server his tie to the democratic party if such should occur. Also the pressure to strip him of any and all committee chairmanship(s) will be automatic and intense for the democratic leadership in the senate.

3. Good! A McNut/JoeMentum ticket will split the Repugs.
And, the DLC will find a home.

7. Nah - McCain will go further right
ala Brownback or Romney to re-enforce the fundie bloc if he survives to the nomination.

They will need that Fundie assurance and figure that the "independents" will think that the VP position means squat despite Melanoma McCain's medical history.

If (by convention time) Mccain thihks he needs to go "Moderate' he will go with soneone like Thompson (in Tommy's dreams right now) or longshot Hagel to confuse the middle of the roaders.

The negatives of all his history and his choices can be overcome by a problemmattic Dem nomination team and the Corporate Media.

All of this assumes Melanoma McCain will make it past Romney.

Do NOT discount the influence of the Mormon network and MONEY in this process. It is HUGE. It did not work for George Romney, but it has built and is ready and waiting.

I base this observation on having a very close Mormon friend who is very liberal --- but her husband is NOT. They are VERY wealthy and he directs the major portion of the "nest egg", while she distributes a meaningful portion to progressive causes in their trust. I still cannot fathom their relationship -especially since SHE was the Liberal Mormon and HE was the Convert.
