Why do freeptards defend the Haditha marines so vehemently?
Edited on Sun Jan-07-07 02:28 AM by candidate
The moment you make the conscious decision to spray innocent civilians with bullets just for the hell of it, you are no longer a soldier, you're a low-life murderer, just like any other.

I could understand it if these civilians were killed in a massive firefight, but all the evidence shows that they were all shot execution-style.

Freeptards will be the first to call for the heads of any Muslims (or non-whites/non-Christians, come on, let's be honest about 'em here) who kill innocents, but when our guys do it, it's somehow better. Not only do freeptards defend these marines, they PRAISE them.

Gotta love their pro-life viewpoints, eh?

Check out this hilarious quote from one of the Haditha threads: "Still, war crimes trials should be held for the principals at the New York Times who have encouraged the enemy in this battle."

LMAO! So murderers of women and children are heroes, but reporters doing their jobs and keeping the public informed are traitors and scum.

I just love how batshit insane freeptards are. The Nazis and Soviet Communists would have been really proud of these people.

Anyway, if the Marines are indeed found guilty, they should spent the rest of their days in jail.

8. Not exactly...
...they certainly don't want to go where things blow up on you and people shoot at you.

My reading in freepland tells me that they are warrior wannabees. They see was as a videogame or paintball.

"If I was over there I'd blast me some ragheads."... well... actually... if they were over there they'd piss their pants.

6. Some freeper types believe that this is what support the troops is
all about. They see every Muslim as a terrorist, so anytime our troops kill Muslims, they are killing terrorists, the way they see it. It's much the same as the way they continue to support Bush. They believe that he is keeping America safe from terror attacks, so they are willing to let him have his way, regardless of how many freedoms and liberties he wants to curtail or lives that are lost due to his poor decisions. Not only that, but if they were to criticize anything about Bush, the soldiers or the way this war is being handled, they would have to admit that they were wrong about a great number of things and they aren't ready to do that.

7. They do not count Iraqis as people. The Marines were merely killing vermin,
in their eyes, regardless of the blot that it has placed on the proud history of the USMC.
Theirs is an insular world, an island of Free Trade, where all who differ are the enemy, where their culture is obviously superior in evey way, where anything "foreign" is suspect (if not overtly evil). They like the idea that there is a Manichean War of Light vs. Darkness going on and that they have special insight of the tactics required...consequences be damned.
They read the same magazines, the same newsreaders "inform them" of the "facts" and they vote the same, look the same, and pretend to pray the same.
In their eyes, Might=Right, Right mandates Force, and you are with US or against Us . They worship power, pure unadulturated power, whether in the corporate sphere or legislature or executive or personal. This allows them to have a "proper" response to all things and at all times, no thinking or individual analysis required.
The Bible and The Fountainhead provide guidance for all problems, with the proper interpretation, of course, and that is where FoxNews and Bill Kristol and Pat Robertson and the other Talibangelists come in... They like the idea that the world is simple, since it frees them from the burdens of adulthood.

9. Not all of them are defending the Marines, however when you say this:
The moment you make the conscious decision to spray innocent civilians with bullets just for the hell of it...

I'll defend them, too. At no time and at no level has anyone suggested that the Marines were involved in recreational killing.

Were they wrong? Absolutely. Excessive force? Absolutely.

So, the answer to your question is pretty easy: when you frame your argument in outrageous terms, you'll find a lot of people line up against you, not just "freetards."

Perhaps you could start again, accurately protraying what really happened.

13. "Recreational killing"
So I take you believe these guys just snapped under the pressure? If that were true, investigators and American defense officials wouldn't be calling the murders methodical in nature.

The evidence shows that it was more like an act of vengeance/extreme anger with no real purpose. That's why I used the term "for the hell of it."

10. Hell, why do they defend Bush's AWOL record so vehemently?
I can answer that: Chickehawks flock together.

Republicons actually feel a deep, abiding sense of shame at their lack of honor, but they cannot admit it because of false pride. They have to pretend they have honor, for they cannot face the truth.

16. I wish I was more eloquent.
All I can say right now is it's because they are assholes, and it's a real pity we have to share the same planet. People with that kind of thinking disgust me. Absolutely and completely. It disturbs me to even think about them.
