Home Depot CEO leaves with severance package of $210 million
Robert Nardelli,58, left after a year following heavy criticism of his performance;
Home Depot's stock has fallen more than 8 percent since Nardelli arrived.

2. This certainly justifies keeping wages to a minimum at Home Depot
...as far as stockholders are concerned:sarcasm:

4. Try to convince me capitalism isn't broken...
please. Try to convince me that our system of effort and reward isn't totally skewed toward the rich. Please, try. Our great capitalism experiment has gone completely off the rails, just as communism went off it's rails and died because of it. I see the same fate for capitalism, at least as it exists in it's present state. This system cannot survive under it's own weight. It's too top heavy with all of the "little people" beneath being crushed by the few "fat cats" on the top.

This is obscene. If this man had an ounce of integrity he'd give the money back. But I'm talking about a "capitalist", aren't I? There's no chance he give one dime of it back. After all, he's "earned it", right? :sarcasm:

5. Mr. Nardelli must be pretty smart
I would be shocked if Home Depot willingly gave Mr. Nardelli 210 million to get rid of a loser. They were legally obligated because they signed a contract.

The board of directors should be fired for allowing this obligation in the first place.

8. I think the board of directors actually encouraged this pay packet and then
tried to take it way. When Mr. Nadelli refused to give any it up, he fell out of favor. The new guy will get a great pay packet too.
