To all who think the Iraq war is not about oil.
Brigadier-General William Looney, U.S. Air Force director of the bombing of Iraq in 2003 said,

"They know we own their country. We own their air space We dictate the way they live and talk. And that's what's great about America right now. It's a good thing especially when there's a lot of oil out there we need."

1. Well its obviously not about what they told us it was about
and we got oil men from Texas slobbing through the WH. And Generals saying things like this. And damn, just take a step back and look at the actions and there has to be little doubt. What else would it be about?

2. I have known since we went into Iraq that it is about the oil
Bush and cheney and their base wants all that oil so they can control everything.
They dont care who dies or what we beleive as long as they get the oil

3. Those record oil profits are just a coincidence. Honest.
Putting the US Army on top of the world's second largest oil reserve had no effect whatsoever.

4. That is sick and totally un-American...or at least what I was brought
up to think of as un-American. Obviously citizens of the US have scarcely stopped mistreating and oppressing weaker citizens of the world for our whole history, starting with the American Indians.

8. Have you heard the story about how alpha male river crocodiles
in Africa increase the number of and intensity of their attacks on other crocodiles as drought deepens and waterholes shrink in their biome, unlike non-alpha males who attack less and less until they actually go away and dig a hole in whatever mud is left and hibernate until the Rains come. The alpha males don't go into hibernation, but stay up so they can fight anyone who comes along. They keep fighting season after season until finally, one season, the rains come and the non-alpha males return from hibernation to full rivers and to the bleached bones of the neighborhood's alpha male.

16. I have always known it's about oil, just not only about oil
Oil is a major factor, but so is the PNAC desire to protect Israel -- posed as 'democratizing' the Middle East -- and the whole weird gotta-finish-what-poppy-didn't-and-show-him-I'm-better part. Altogether that's why I think we invaded Iraq.
