Freeper mad when security at the airport effects their family.
And most, of course support him.

As long as it's not them and just 'those people', right? I mean, how can these injustices happen to us? We're the 'good guys'.

2. Dumb bitch should learn English
if she's going to be in OUR country, she better know the language. I suppose she'll want all the signs in Lithuanian next! :sarcasm:

If it was someone that Freeptard didn't know getting cigarettes put out on them and being sodomized with a broomstick the same guy would have said, "Well, if that's what keeps the plane safe, I don't see what the problem is"

3. Yet another freep that has never been out of the country...
Otherwise he would have know that questions about fruit, cigars, weapons, are standard by customs officials and since she didn't speak english there was no way for her to answer them... duh!! :eyes:

Smart move giving the MIL a list of numbers to hand customs otherwise she would have never been allowed to enter.

6. "no English, no English"
I'm sure this Freeper would be completely understanding if the mother of a US citizen of Mexican decent got stopped arriving to LAX and "harassed" by the evil customs officials. :nopity:

Quick side note, though: I'd personally prefer it if you just posted the most salient bits of the post so no one would have to click over to that cesspool (and especially when the poster said absolutely nothing of interest until about 2/3rds of the way down...). :hi:

" Next time, have her travel through Mexico and just walk across the border. If she wears a sombrero, no one will bother her."

Which is kinda what we liberals have been complaining about for the past few years.

if enough of these "If you don't have anything to hide..." assholes get pissed, it's not just us fighting the battle.

21. I personally think we're well overdue for racial, political, and religious profiling for terrorism.
particularly considering that the vast majority of terror attacks in this country in the past fifteen years have been carried out by white male Christian right-wing extremists.

Seattle has a large Russian population. My doctor is Russian; she speaks five languages. I agree that Lithuanian does not equal Russian, but Sea-Tac is a major gateway to Asia as well. The airport staff is dealing with those who don't speak English on a daily basis. To strip search a grandmother whose supposed "crime" is nothing more than not speaking English? It would be possible to search her carry on and wand her to determine that she had no cigars, fruit or other contraband. (She spoke no English, but could sob out "Seattle bad, Copenhagen good"? Suuuuuure. I'll bet she's on all local channels this evening. I'll let you all know.)

Obviously, I'm a red-haired, blue eyed American citizen, but we've been lucky enough to travel a bit. I haven't had one problem at any customs or immigration desk I've appeared in front of, including Seattle's, and I didn't always speak the language in the country I might find myself in. I smell a rat. Considering the fact that Seattle is one of those damn liberal enclaves, we believe in treating people as human beings, and there would be hell to pay at Sea-Tac if the TSA ever did anything of the sort described.

25. That's why my grandpa used to always lie at the US/Canadian border
Pre 9-11, when they would ask you where you were born, he and Grandma would just say "the US". Grandma was born in Canada, which wouldn't have been a problem, but Grandpa was born in Austria, his village was taken over by Italy by the time he left for here and the whole thing was so complicated, that it would have made for difficulty crossing the border.

31. I don't know what the Freep's motivation would be to make it up.
I could see them fabricating a story of a "REAL" terrorist getting stopped and our brave President saving the day. But this? Naw, I'm inclined to believe it is real, if maybe a bit exaggerated.

30. Which administration insisted on this level of security?
Why is the draconian security still being shown as full of holes?

In the meantime, we drew the secondary search two years ago coming back into the United States from Canada. We had cat food in our possession, which necessitated unloading our car for a search of our possessions. It's part of the deal when one crosses the border or comes into the United States -- one may be searched. At any time. For any reason. If the person coming into the United States necessitates an interpreter, it's hard for me to imagine why the oh-so-concerned son in law did not have MIL land in Vancouver, BC, for instance, and drive her over the border himself.

It's hard not to laugh when the shoe's on the other foot with them, isn't it?
