Poll question: What is it that bush desperately needs again to save his ass?
I hate to even think about it. How can bush possibly pull his ass out of the fire at this point? How can he salvage his legacy? How can he make disaster into success? How can he get America back on HIS track?

3. A whole bunch of overpaid lawyers.
However, what he's hoping for is some sort of "victory" in Iraq with another throw of the dice with the "surge".

5. He needs to dump CHENEY
even if it means delivering him all tied up with a bow to Fitz.

Then he needs to get a moderate in there as VP. I hear Chaffee is looking for a job.

Then he needs to play up his lovable bumbler persona, moving all those hard right evangelicals out of the White House and back into their churches and taking advice from Chafee on whom to appoint for offices.

Then he needs to fade away completely in January, 2009.

Otherwise, his ass is thoroughly in a sling unless a corporate jet is fueled and at the ready with daily flight plans for Paraguay on file.

His party, of course, will continue to be marginalized if he continues on the way he's been going. People are just plain sick of being bullied.

6. A talking head predicted this on t.v. yesterday
On cnn? He predicted that cheney would step down for health reasons, a card he could've played all along. But anything is possible.

11. Even with that, he will have to be content with only the alerts. He
can't afford another terror attack right now as that would only prove, even to his "base" that he can't protect us from terrorists.
