Various forces of the RW are slipping
Nobody knows if the Christian Coalition, once one of the most powerful groups in the 'christian' Right, will still be around tomorrow.

Several 'christian' Right groups, usually well funded, resorted to using the annual 'war on Christmas' as a way of getting funds.

The Traditional Values Coalition is operating in the Red.

PNAC is on its deathbed.

So, what's the problem?

1. We have to remain vigilant against the Far Right

2. We have to be responsible, there won't be any 'christian' Right theocracy or Neocon Empire as long as they are this weak, and that means we will have to make sure OUR folks in Congress are doing what they promised us they would do and it also means keeping them accountable too

1. It sounds good to say PNAC is on it's deathbed, but I would
beg to differ seeing who has been appointed lately (Gates, reappointing Negroponte, appointing the Navy guy - can't remember his name - and now the UN appointments). I'm afraid their positioning their pieces for a checkmate.

3. PNAC just morphed into something else
Something a lot of think tanks do. They abandon ship and open up shop under a different name

5. Kind of necessary when your goal is to talk people into doing stuff
And that stuff doesn't pan out.

2. The far right was left for dead in the 1940s, too
I mean, when Eisenhower ran, he warned against the Military-Industrial complex and also said that those who opposed social security were stupid. He also appointed William Brennan & Earl Warren to the SCotUS, too.

Heck, even Nixon looked moderate compared to the Republics that came later.

We really need to kick them when they're down, though... and then kick them some more, and then after we're done with them, we really have to put them out of their misery.
