Its the start of a new week, Truthseekers. The champagne glasses have been shelved, the confetti is swept away, and the new Congress is ready to get down to serious business. How effective How effective will they be? The first test may come as early as Wednesday with Bush's much anticipated New Way Forward speech detailing his plans for Iraq.

Somebody needs to tell Chucklenutz that the American people will not support a "surge" of troops into Iraq to escalate the war. Think about it: the American people wouldn't have supported the Iraq folloy in the first place if they hadn't been lied to by the Bush Crime Family about fake WMDs and non-existent al Qaeda links and deceptive references to 9-11.

Is Raisin Brain so delusional that he thinks after all his lies and desceptions have been uncovered that we're willing to throw even MORE bodies into the fire?

Is this some kind of bizarre scientific experiment to see how low his approval ratins can plummet? Or how far he can go toward dictatorship until the Democrats are forced to begin impeachment proceedings? Could that be Cheney's master plan after all?

New York smells of freshly baked bagels and delicatessens and
pizza parlors. In December the vendors selling Christmas trees
fill the streets with the smell of pine, there are chestnuts
roasting on an open fire.

Springtime in New York is Central Park and Riverside Drive.
Summer is the salty surf at Coney Island and Brighton Beach.

My apartment house is a United Nations of cooking aromas at
mealtimes. Third floor is curry and other exotic Indian
spices. Fifth floor is knockwurst and saurkraut. Eighth floor
is roast beef and mashed potatoes.

Other smells are not so nice. So...what else is new?  We cope.

She seems to be saying all the right things while trying to maintain a bit of civility. Mike is basically upset with the civility and not the message. Fine, but there's really no need to panic yet. By making the decision not to publish the photographs from Haditha, the Washington Post editors are no better than the Holocaust deniers that recently met in Tehran. More importantly, if photographic evidence didn’t exist of the Holocaust (or was held back, or destroyed), it would be so much easier for the deniers to credibly make their case that the Holocaust didn’t happen. In fact, history could easily be rewritten.

It’s time for the Washington Post editors to make a decision. By holding back these images of atrocities committed in the name of the American people, the Post editors allow the atrocities to continue. This is particularly true in a week which decisions are going to be announced that will define U.S. involvement in Iraq for at least the rest of George Bush’s term in office.
