In Laura Rozen's new piece, "Cheney’s Dead-Enders", she tries to keep us up to date on what's going on within the office of the Dark Prince. It's no small feat, as you might expect, given His sociopathic love of secrecy. This parenthetical anecdote says volumes:

(When I inquired about a staffer’s rumored move to the Veep’s office, a Cheney press officer answered sweetly, “If we have a personnel announcement we’d like you to know about, we’ll tell you.”)

Huh? Shut down over a question about staffing? How do administation officials even contact each other on the *phone* if their offices aren't public information? How should the invitations to cocktail parties be addressed? Where do the CANDY-GRAMS get delivered?????

If Laura had stuck to questions about CIA operatives who were related to administration critics, maybe she could have gotten some straight answers.
