1. Nah....Shrubby is more like Cliff Barnes.
A ne'er do well that holds grudges forever and thinks he's smarter than he is while everything he touches turns to shit.

23. Molly Ivins called Bush Sr "The Cliff Barnes of Texas Politics"....
Neither of the Bushes would win a fight against JR.

7. Nah - the little asshole couldn't carry JR's cowboy hat
He'd love to be evil but lacks the brains and/or the balls to do so. He has evil puppet masters but he's only a pathetic tool.

12. Hubby said maybe someone ought to send this to shrubby....
This ain't Dallas and this ain't Dynasty.
This is a real-life two job working family.
And I ain't J.R. You ain't Suellen
We're just a man and a woman holding things together.

I work every day the sun comes up from eight until five.
I don't have a new Mercedes car or a chauffer to drive.
My wife ain't out shoppin' with a country club queen.
Cause she's workin' in the morning until she picks up the kids at three.

And this ain't Dallas and this ain't Dynasty.
This is a real-life two job working family.
And I ain't J.R. You ain't Suellen
We're just a man and a woman holding things together.

Now we all like to watch those shows and we all like to dream.
You know J.R. is making deals and Alexis is making steam.
Joan and Linda, Victoria and Morgan they're a sight to see.
My ole lady said, "I know what you're thinkin'"
I said "Now honey, don'tcha know all of that is on TV.

And this ain't Dallas, this ain't Dynasty.
This is makin' a livin' down in Tennessee.
And I ain't J.R. and you ain't Suellen.
Nah We're just man and woman holding things together.

No this ain't Dallas and this ain't Dynasty.
This is makin' a livin' down in Tennessee.
I ain't J.R. and you ain't Suellen.
Nah just man and woman holding this thing together.

And we're just a man and woman holding this thing together.

14. A good analogy but a little off
After all, who would be Bobby Ewing, the good person in the family? I can't think of anyone in the Bush family who would be Bobby Ewing.

24. I always pictured Shrub as Tiberius....
Although he lacks the military experience.

But Livia was the mother of Tiberius. Never let Ma Bush mix you a drink!

25. Sorry but no way.......
"Dallas" was one of my all time favorite shows.

J.R. was smart and also quick witted, and funny with the one liners.... not to mention handsome.

Shrub is none of the above imo.

Sue Ellen had backbone (eventually) and smarts too - also style and personality.

Laura Shrub = none of those things.

I see where on the surface, you are coming from - since it's maybe a Texas thing - but as a fan of the show and the characters - I can tell you other than the Texas thing and oil theres no comparison.

Papa Bush could equal Cliff Barnes - but Shrub too stupid to even be Cliff.

Shrub maybe could have been one of Lucy's dumb boyfriends.
