1. Since CNN has the 100 hours clock for the Dems ...
they need their own clock.

2. good question....
Contrary to popular belief, Bush announcing that he wants my brother and 19,999 other loved American soldiers to be sent back to Iraq soon is not exactly something to anticipate or celebrate in any way. This will be my brother's fourth deployment btw.

:grr:

4. I hope he doesn't have to go again.
BTW, how does he feel about this war, if I may be so bold to ask?

7. ultimately he thinks it's bs
He's glad that Saddam is gone but that's really the only upside. Now he's just counting the days 'till he's out of the military for good (in 2008).

5. It's disgraceful...
both your brother's redeployment (my best to him and your family), and the Circus Atmosphere which they're promoting.

Imagine if D-Day occurred now..we'd have "Countdown to Probable Invasion", tip off the Germans and debate whether it was a good idea. Ann Coulter would weigh in on all those pussy liberals who had the temerity to get shot before they even left the landing craft.

8. you really put your finger on the thing that bothers me the most
Being scared for a loved one fighting in war is hard enough without the ridiculous theatrics and faux patriotism by those who have no dog in the fight so to speak. This war is not a video game and it's not a drama series on television. Real people are shedding blood and dying. Real families are being destroyed over this.

You know what is a real mind f*ck? Having your heart stop every time the news announces a car bombing and finding out that an X amount of soldiers have been killed without any additional information...then two minutes later some DC blowhard is dismissing it and saying that the media should instead focus on the fact that some new school was rebuilt months ago. Cut to commercial. I usually can't handle the circus for longer than a few days after his deployment and I'm forced to turn off the news completely.

9. I well remember when our son-in-law was in the first goround...
we couldn't eat or sleep, as the media hype had him in harm's way all the time. I remember the night the barracks were blown up. The phone rang shortly thereafter, and it was him. He knew how worried we would be and wanted us to know he was OK. I slept well, that night.

I can't imagine going through years of worrying. Those few months were bad enough.

Bless him and all of you if he has to go back.

6. This is yet another way of Dub ordering his "servants"...
To do his dirty work for him, just as I'll bet he's been doing since he was a child...a child in actual age, that is.

The only "Surge" he'll get out of this escalation is the false sense of security he'll have about his "legacy"...and, of course, the opportunity to blame Iraq's collapse on his Democratic successor. I guess we ought to expect that he never learned anything from LBJ and Nixon's foibles with similar escalations in Viet Nam; after all, he managed to stay out of that one!:eyes:

Anyone in Congress who buys into the load of crap he's going to lay on us tonight ought to be tarred and feathered!

B-)

3. Building momentum! *gasp*
Anyone else feel like the M$M has been getting a big woody over this? I can hear Scarborough and Buchanan now. "He was sooooo Presidential! He smacked it out so far out of park he'll be voted into the Presidential Hall of Fame by morning! ahhh! oohhh! ooohhh! ohhhhhhh! aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
