BWHAHAHA! CNN already calling "BULLSHIT" on Bush's speech!
Edited on Wed Jan-10-07 11:23 AM by Atman
Apparently, he's suddenly flipped and is planning on saying that his "surge" is actually an IRAQI plan, not his. Every talking head cried bullshit. Said that Bush/his advisors "just made it up this morning," and they all say he's simply not credible, and they don't think anyone is going to buy it.

it was something football coaches wanted out of their offensive and defensive lines, especially in short yardage situations.

7. They showed footage of his "mission accomplished" speech this morning -
then went on to say how many more troops we've lost since that speech. They also showed footage of the Iraqi election with the showing of purple fingers, and Bush stating that the election signified "turning the corner". The gist of the whole thing - "why should we listen to him now?" It was great.

8. The deeper significance of this is that Bush is gone.
A Puggy President who loses CNN is a Puggy President who has lost corporate America. That's the only way CNN gets unleashed to do something like this. They may let him sit out his term, but he is no longer a lame duck. He is a dead duck.

17. Liars. They liked it "because it was not a key feature of Baker-Hamilton"
As described by participants in the administration review, some staff members on the National Security Council became enamored of the idea of sending more troops to Iraq in part because it was not a key feature of Baker-Hamilton. One senior administration official disputed that, arguing that staff members were attracted to the "surge" option to address long-standing concern that earlier efforts failed because of insufficient security forces.

25. So, we're standing up so they don't have to?
I can't believe Bush is actually going to claim this is an Iraqi plan. That would mean that in roughly six weeks of "consultation" with his "advisors" (idiots like Kagan, mostly), he came up with exactly nothing--and decided to go with the "Iraqi plan." Because, you know, the Iraqi government is composed of military geniuses.

27. So Who Is Standing With Bush On This Terrible Plan? No one credible. How Do We Know?
Even the MSM is beginning to report 'the emperor has no clothes.'

This means the MSM is no longer afraid they will be shut out by this Adminstration from future news opportunities if they do not support the Bush propaganda.

This sure is looking like a huge shift against Bush and his ill-conceived plans. About 6 years too late IMHO.

33. What became of the Iraq Study Group Plan?
When that study group report came out, Bush and his ChimpFluffers were everywhere in the media spinning about the fact he would thoroughly review that report before commenting on it and adopting any parts of it. The whole idea of the delay was to review that report and build a strategy around it. Now, I assume that not one single shred of it has been considered or adopted by Bush.

40. They have been changed this speech all day
First it was reported that he would admit that mistakes were made (read that again carefully)

Then we heard that the 22,000 no wait the 21,500 no wait the 20,000 would only be doing training not that hard you know real Army type stuff (I hope this means that shrapnel flies slower towards them)

Now he is trying to claim that it is the Iraqis plan.

By 9 PM there is no telling what this will have evolved into.
