These Ass-hats Repukes are making my blood boil
I'm currently listening to the debate about the bill to raise minimum wage and I don't know how much more I can take. These Repukes are so sick and disgusting. The lies that are coming out of their mouths are beyond all reason. Almost to a person, they say how this bill will hurt small businesses and keep people from being hired. GOD!!!!

The Repuke from Texas(missed his name) actually had the balls to say that most current full-time minimum wage earners make just below $40,000!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!! WHAT FREAKING DREAM WORLD DOES HE LIVE IN!!!!!

Well I hate to tell this stupid bastard, but I work full time and I don't make anywhere near that figure. I would have to work 2 other jobs to even get close!!!!

I'm so mad right now, I almost can't see to type. These ass-hats are so beyond reprehensible!!!!

It's simple. Just work all the time. All day. All night. Every day.

45 grand! Piece of cake!

Well, until we take out the taxes, medical, etc.

But still ... 45 Grand!

:(

3. What an asinine statement. How does 40 hours a week at minimum wage
equal $40,000? By my calculations, that would make the minimum wage $19 an hour. Not too shabby.

7. He said that "family" earnings were $40K
Not that I think the Repubs have a leg to stand on in this fight, but he did, at least, not completely show himself to be an ass. He stated that minimum wage earners are in a family and the entire family income is around $40K (or words to that effect).

I love the way they're trying to fall all over themselves saying that they've already tried to raise minimum wage and/or the Dems have prevented them from doing a good job of it... I want a "hypocrite" button to push that stamps that on their foreheads... Sheesh.

21. For the many millions..
.. who live below the poverty line, the
average wage is less than $20k.

Those who try but of course cannot make
a living on minimum wage, it's more like
$10k.

This blinkered idea of America being the
country of the middle class just shows how
well poverty and desperation are swept
under the media carpet, not to be looked at
very hard or very often.

But it's there. And it's worse now because of
the insanity that is Bush and this country's
bondage in corporate servitude or puppethood.

13. These asswipes are all for maximizing the incomes of business
owners, but have no interest in allowing the "little guy" to increase his income. They are disgusting beyond belief.

I live in a state where our minimum wage is well above the federal limit ($7.80). And I can't figure out how anyone thinks it's possible to survive at the current federal level.

14. Hastert had said the same thing at the end of last year
The only way I could figure they could possibly come up with those numbers, was to make an assumption that they are defining "most current full-time minimum wage earners" as a couple with both making minimum wage and working full-time.

They're utilizing propoganda statistics methods.

17. The stupid Repuke speaking now
is going on about how teen workers will lose out if the minimum wage is raised.

Now I know there are some teens that help support their families and could possibly be hurt by this, but the vast majority of people currently working who would benefit from this raise are people with families. So this argument is stupid and not really relevant since a lot of the studies he quoted were from the 70's.

I may have to change to channel before the next Repuke starts yapping cause I might kick in the TV.

Edited on Wed Jan-10-07 11:48 AM by djohnson
A typical corporate retailer pays teens more than, say a middle aged mom who never had a chance to go to college.

Yeah, corporations like love to take part in age and sexual discrimination thinking teens will lure in more customers.

31. Does that ring a bell for me...
I worked for a family-owned floral shop years ago & they happened to have a Cadillac SUV & a Mercedes. Their children went to the best private schools in the area & lived in the very expensive Garden District in New Orleans. They also own a funeral home with its own floral shop.

One of the employees, who was gay, needed an operation but couldn't have it done because, of course, the owners don't provide insurance. He was one of their favorite employees & I remember their sympathetic facial expressions & their silence when he brought it up (he was spunky).

I wonder if he still works for those slave masters.

A minimum wage worker makes at least 40k+ for his boss to take home. So 100 minimum wage workers makes one owner $4 million per year and so on... that's how it works.

They are getting up and talking now about some balanced bill that they have and that it is better than the Democrat bill.

First off---it is DEMOCRATIC!!!! You freakin Ass-hats!!!! I've come to believe this is their way of making a snid jab at the Dems.

Secondly---if the Repukes have had this wonderful bill that will benefit workers and small businesses then why in the 12 years that they have been in control haven't they passes it. Especially since they have had the power over the last several years.

I have had enough of these Ass-hats!!! They can't even lie correctly anymore!!! I think it is now time for them to STFU!!!!!

Sheridan and I have both been under the weather. Also the power cord to my laptop was damaged so I haven't been on much. Was finally able to order a replacement today. I have an older desktop that I can use, but I prefer my laptop.

I've also been working a great deal and have been been so tired after I get home I've been falling asleep. Hopefully I'll be showing up in the KOEB again soon.
