8. I'm sure there will be a "surge" in enlistment after Smirk's SOTU...
this evening. Freedom-loving Americans will be so inspired they'll march right on down to their nearest enlistment office bright and early tomorrow am!

21. I'm sure "the troops" would love a bunch of soft, coddled frat boys...
fighting alongside them, but I guess desperate times call for desperate measures. I really cannot wait to hear the "analysis" tomorrow. Will the right-wing blowhards be calling on their fellow citizens to sign up? Share the burden? Make the sacrifice? Yeah, right!

10. Extending tours of duty for soldiers and Marines
Edited on Wed Jan-10-07 01:49 PM by americanstranger
by 3 to 4 months. They'll also call up additional Guard and Reserve units.

Those poor kids. They gotta be so tired of this shit. So tired, period.

And everyone better pray to their fave diety that another natural disaster doesn't happen in this country. It'll be Katrina all over again, because we won't have any NG to deal with it.

This is a fucking hare-brained plan, failure after failure.

Impeach him. Impeach them all.

20. Is there any legal limit to how many times these guys can be called up?
I'd heard some people are on going on their 4th tour. Could be wrong about that though.

15. Pentagon says it has to screw the soldiers to get that many
Sorry I didn't save the link. I read that the Pentagon says the maximum it can muster and still stay within it's own deployment rules is 9000. To get more they would have to basically screw the troops to do it.

6. $6.8 billion is only the start, as usual low balling estimates over selling
....effectiveness, expect that cost to be tens times that number. Congress really must IMPEACH Bush/Cheney now!

14. OK Congress: DO YOUR JOB!
Tell Bush NO.

He must pay first. He must explain where the money is coming from.

He must present a plan to succeed, not just more troops on top of more troops.

He must be held accountable for his actions up to this point.

INVESTIGATE. IMPEACH. INCARCERATE!

22. And Now the GOP suck asses are on TV saying that the 21,500
is just the first phase of the build-up. If the Generals say they need more troops, Bush will whip them up out of thin air and ship them over, at our expense.(I feel a draft)
