1. I'm leaving work early to go

I told my boss I had a special event to attend, and asked if I could leave at 5:00 instead of my usual 6:00 PM. And she said yes. Of course, she has no idea what my 'special event' is. ;)

3. Grrr! The one night I can't

I have 6 people coming in to watch me interview doctors. Can't say "gotta leave early! Think I'll skip out on the last two."

Now, any other day this week, I could tell my boss "gotta cut out a little early and go protest this damned war" and she'd probably say "Did you tell my daughter about that? You should stop by her office - I bet she would want to go with you" One advantage to working for a hardcore Dem!

But not tomorrow night - working until 8pm.
