Sen. Coleman: "I do not want to embarrass the president, but I do not support a surge"

<snip>

Republicans, too, were restless. "I do not want to embarrass the president, but I do not support a surge" in troops, said Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., who said he had told Bush as much last week.

2. His constituents are far more important...
Than "embarrassing the president"--about damned time he realized that one--oh, that's right; he's up in 2008!:eyes:

B-)

11. Sometimes Normie being an opportunist works for us
He's up for reelection in 2008 and he knows how badly his fellow Bushbot (Mark Kennedy) was beaten in this year's senate race.

Don't trust Normie until we see how he votes when Ted Kennedy's bill comes to the floor. I'm still betting he'll be one of the last rats off the ship.

7. It doesn't look like we have to worry about Lieberman this time
He and McCain each can do what he wants including make an ass of himself sucking up to the Frat Boy. Again.

18. If Normie is turning on him, Bush is indeed a lame duck.
Norm has been a true-red Bush-tush kisser for the last six years. Norm is the ultimate opportunist and would only disagree with Dim Son because he knows there's no longer anything to be gained from pandering to BushCo.
