Will he use his '02 SotU voice?
Or his "Let's play Sheriff" voice?

Or one of his other wind-it-up and plug-it-in voices?

And I thought this was originally scheduled for 8PM.

2. He'll use his military pronunciatons, for sure
We have to support "thee" troops. I refer to it as his Marine impersonation.

3. He will absolutelly go with the Texass drawl!
In my opinon. You know the "Howdy folks I'm just a regular guy who screws up just like you folks. Of course he will inject some of his.."YA see ya gotta understand...." And then of course in his own pedagogic way will then explain to us why we are fighting an illegal war because of course he is the president and he knows all!

BLLLLLeeeeeeeeeeCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

19. "See ..." -- and his other favorite space-filler, "in other words"
I suspect he puts that in when he doesn't know the concept very well, and is simply repeating the exact phrasing his aides used when explaining it to him with a (usually oversimplified) analogy.

So of course he says this quite often.

4. He's going to TRY to sound humble as he "admits mistakes"
Now THIS I've gotta see ... That's why this speech is going to be so hard for him to give: he's GOT to sound like he "feels our pain" about the Iraq situation, which couldn't be further from the truth. HE HAS NO EMPATHY yet tonight he's going to try and fake it ... again.

Bring it on, poseur!

20. Maybe he'll go with "The Amazing Technicolor Dreamtie"!
As named by DU's own Will Pitt -- the one that threw off distracting interference patterns during one of his earlier speeches -- possibly an experiment at mass hypnosis? Heaven knows he'll need something like that to keep his newly-skeptical audience (in Congress and out in TV-land) from openly heckling his speech.

"You lost all of that and were left with the tie around Bush's neck, the gray spotted tie that was flashing and heliographing in the camera's eye like something out of a Hunter S. Thompson fever dream, the mesmerizing swirl of reds and yellows and purples and blues that left the whole press conference behind in a hypnotizing, dazzling, inebriating swirl of flummoxed technology which almost certainly caused Americans from sea to shining sea to lean towards their televisions and exclaim, "Holy Christ, Marjorie, look at the man's necktie!""

8. I just heard he's going to admit ... "failure"
Which means he'll probably choke up just like his Poppy. (When Poppy gave that recent "meltdown" speech, it was the word "failure" that opened the water works. After all, Bushits DON'T FAIL ... )

10. It's scheduled for 9 PM Eastern. He didn't want to pre-empt Keith Olbermann.
Okay, maybe that wasn't his reason for setting it at 9 PM...

One phrase that will cause an immediate eye-roll with me: "the bad guys". I am so SICK of hearing a phrase from my preschool "cops and robbers" children's game, being used by people discussing serious national affairs! It's a huge insult to the intelligence of every listener.

18. This is going to be one of those pursed lips ones.
Like when he was reciting the lies about Saddam in '02 Sotu. 100,000000,000 tonnes of anthrax, 20000000 gallons of botulism toxin, you like botulism don't you danny?
