I suppose Bush*'s speech will contain past tense.

Troop Surge Already Under Way

90 Advance Troops from 82nd Airborne Arrive in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraq, Jan. 10, 2007— President Bush's speech may be scheduled for tonight, but the troop surge in Iraq is already under way.

ABC News has learned that the "surge" Bush is expected to announce in a prime time speech tonight has already begun. Ninety advance troops from the 82nd Airborne Division arrived in Baghdad today.

An additional battalion of roughly 800 troops from the same division are expected to arrive in Baghdad Thursday.

It is the first small wave of troops in a new White House strategy that is expected to put more than 20,000 additional U.S. troops on the ground in Iraq and likely require new call-ups of the National Guard.

4. Are we already carpet bombing Iran too?
It's time to face it: Bush and his administration are doing whatever the hell they want. If we don't impeach them then we've lost our government to a coup.

Election of 2000 - stolen
Attacks on 9/11 - aided and/or abetted by our government
Anthrax attacks - aided and/or abetted by our government
Election of 2004 - stolen

Got fear?

15. Actually, I'm surprised.
I kinda thought he was gonna let Congress stop him & then whine about how the Dems lost the war for him when they wouldn't permit the Splurge.

I do imagine the leak was a surprise to him. He no doubt intended to announce it during the speech for dramatic effect. The wind has now been taken out of that sail.

31. ...then we've lost our government to a coup.
And I wonder how many Americans, even progressive ones, are willing to own up to that fact: a judicial coup d'etat took place in 2000. It was a quiet, rather than a bloody, coup, but the effect is upon us every day.

The pressure inherent in beginning impeachment proceedings could result in resignations, and save us the trouble. In Dubya's case, though, I think he's so disoriented as to the reality of things that he will never go willingly.

32. The coup was in 2000 or on 9/11
It's a toss-up for me.

But one thing is definitely clear: After 9/11 this country took a series of weird turns that seem to be almost inexplicable apart from a coup.

I hate to be this cynical, but it may be too late. Our control of our government may be lost.

34. I try to maintain hope. Hope...
...by its nature is irrational when it's held in the face of what seem to be overwhelming odds.

But we must do it. And we must add action to hope.

We need to jam the phone lines and the post office boxes of our reps in Congress. E-mail is too easy to ignore. Something physical seems good to me.

I think there's no doubt that the coup took place in 2000. The Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a president, for God's sake. 9/11 was just a "logical" followup to that. I'll stop short of saying it was an inside job. I *didn't* say it was inside job. I'm not even sitting here thinking it *might* have been an inside job. None of my friends have said they think it's an inside job.

(Hey, there's an elephant in my office.)

If that were the case, the order would have had to have gone out long ago. Is this why the criminals have delayed this speech? Hmmmmm. They are gonna roll right over congress.

20. In other words...
we are about to kill a *lot* more Iraqis and a good deal more of our troops before we finally bring them home.

There must be some way for some forces in government to immediately remove this dangerous president. Some way!

If we have to temporarily abrogate the Constitution to do it, at this point, so be it.

Congress does, however, have to be willing to work hard within its bounds to protect the American people from this madness.

These escalation troops are being sent to a meatgrinder. We can't even subdue the Sunni militias and now Maliki is picking a fight with the Shi'a ones.:eyes:
