Pelosi & Reid Look Pissed.
Edited on Wed Jan-10-07 06:23 PM by spanone
Seems Junior didn't give a shit what they had to say after all, imagine that!

~snip~ Top Democrats said they should have been granted an audience earlier with President Bush to discuss his new strategy for the war in Iraq. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said their meeting Wednesday with the president "was notification, not consultation." ~snip~

1. 300 Million Americans Say "Join the Club!"
and then they say, "Pick up the club, and bash the mule over the head with it, if you want to get his attention."

3. They weren't too impressed that Bush was already practicing his speech...
...on his new troop escalation in Iraq when they got to the WH to discuss and listen to their advice on his troop escalation in Iraq.

Seems kind of meaningless to ask others advice after already making up his mind.

16. they aren't appeasing anything with their stand on impeachment
they can't make an impeachment happen out of thin air with their slim majority. That effort will take time. No one believes they would stand in the way of any prosecution which comes out of the hearings they have vowed to pursue.

Their opposition, so far, has been strong and direct. They will continue to oppose Bush, mindful of the political realities of the limits of their legislative majority's own authority and influence.

12. Bush and his White house understand raw power, period.
They aren't going to "reach across the aisle." Ever. If Pelosi wants to reign Bush in, she's going to have to do it by force. Cut off his budget. Impeach him. Something of that magnitude. Anything less is pissing in the wind.

19. See, if the decider had been talking to them F2F
Edited on Wed Jan-10-07 06:54 PM by realpolitik
all this time, they might currently be in mid-impeachment.

That is the deep essential chumphood of politicians-- they compromise so often to get things done, that they fall easily into the trap of compromising with people who only intend on screwing them.

They see ** do this time and time again to others, but surely *this time* Lucy will leave the football on the turf.

And now they have the look and feel of chumps.

Maybe they are looking at the table differently now.
Maybe they see a table with impeachment papers in a neat pile, halfway to the ceiling.

disagreement as BEING THWARTED, and he does NOT brook being thwarted. E.V.E.R. On A.N.Y. behavior.

Once Pelosi and Reid realize this is a full-fledged megalomaniac with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, the clearer their path will be.
