They have had to cut recruitment goals to meet them. Are they going to offer more money or will the draft be needed to do Iran/Syria? Actual question from me, where? Edited to add, I am not talking about increasing tours of those already in, but he was referring to increasing the total number in the military.

Because I suspect that's what it's gonna boil down to.

Bush is gonna ask Congress and the American people for 20,000 more troops to be sent to Iraq, but it'll probably be more like 50,000. Since we don't have the military manpower readily available to meet that goal, he'll resort to either asking Congress to reinstate the draft or, knowing The Village Idiot, he'll completely circumvent Congress and sign an Executive Order making the draft mandatory. I'll go with the latter rather than the former and, if it does come to that, all hell would break loose.

The man has lied about everything else, the number of American military servicepeople won't be any different.

How the hell can he increase the total number of troops already in the military? Clone them? That statement doesn't make any sense. It's totally illogical (but, then again, so is Bush). A soldier who has spent three or four tours in the Middle East ain't gonna be too happy about being called up for a fifth.

Mark my words: "Military reinforcement" is spelled D-R-A-F-T.
