1. it'll make a good moment at his war crimes trials....
Prosecutor: Mr. Bush, is this your admission of responsibility for the unnecessary deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians?

Bush: Well, er, um....

2. I translate it "Get off my back. I admit I was wrong --
Edited on Wed Jan-10-07 10:41 PM by rurallib
Now just leave me alone and let me do what I want." You saying your sorry just to shut someone up, but of course you don't mean it - just want them to go away and let you play some more.

3. Blame me, but keep the troops in there to protect my oil, forever.
Quite simple, really.

Next week, he makes Iraq pass the law giving the oil to Exxon, BP and Shell, and we cough up our youth to protect them.

Blame him all you want. He really doesn't care one whit. As long as he gets his oil.

5. Bush admitted nothing. He said that there were mistakes, and he'd
take responsibility for them. Never has he yet said that HE, personally, has made any mistake.

6. It was only an excuse to put the word "mistakes" in his speech...
Edited on Wed Jan-10-07 10:54 PM by parasim
to try to appease the critics who say he never admits he's made mistakes. But since he never says what those "mistakes" were, it means nothing.

Now, if he said "Going to war with Iraq was a mistake, and the responsibilty rests with me", well, that would be something altogether different.

on edit: or... what pdxmom said 8 mintues ago... (man, it takes me a long time to write a post...)

16. Sound Bite Nonsense
According to bush, his mistakes are not having enough troops in harms way, and not brutalizing the iraqi people enough. But all the carbon blobs will hear is "I made mistakes" which will lead them to believe that he knows there's a problem, and that he's fixing it.
