we were, many of us, discussing how the media seemed forever slanted to portray the fascists as doing a good job. Some of us felt that the media, for many reasons, had become just another arm of the corporate/political state.

I still feel that way, and wonder.

Why the huge change in "reporting" the news?

Where is this coming from, and why?

1. They can no longer carry water for him.

He has gone the proverbial "bridge too far". The MSM knows the country's mood. If they have any chance of saving their professional skins, they have to break with him. Their credibility is on the line. Not with us, but our fellow citizens who are waking up from their long, self-indulgent slumbers.

Of course, it may be too little too late, but...don't be surprised if the chocks are pulled from under the wheels of a lot of stories that they may have been sitting upon. Hasten the demise and redeem themselves, in one swell foop.

A cynical and self-serving course? Sure. That said, I'd grudgingly welcome it, grumbling all the way.

2. Bush is bankrupting the country

and losing our power and prestige in the process. That's what the elite are all about, money, power and prestige. The elite like stability at any price, even dictatorship. Bush is destroying in a few short years what it took them centuries to build up.

Facts, errors, truths, lies, predjudices, ideologies...
these are all just TOOLS to be used in the single-minded
pursuit of PROFIT.

And the Corporate State learned LONG ago how
to make PROFIT from either side of any given
equation.

It armed and supported Saddam for decades, right
up until the moment it became more profitable
to demonize and murder him.

And now we are seeing the same formula applied
to George Dubya B*sh.

The Corporate State made billion$ building him up
with lies....right up until the moment that there
was more money to be made by tearing him down with TRUTH.

6. Corporate powers bought into the PNAC plan for world domination and

put their money and power on the neocons. The promised pay off was not delivered. Now they are pulling back and a bit peeved at losing on that investment. Gergen speaks for them.

Given the various organizations, of which most are aware, that seem to control the flow of world events.......I wonder what this is all about.
