Humility
The only proper way out is to humble ourselves. Bush has toppled us from our prominent place in the world community. We are just to proud to admit it.

America screwed up and lost any semblance of moral highground when we attacked a nation without provocation. We do not belong in Iraq. The only way to correct this is to appologise to the nation. Beg for forgiveness from the Iraqi people. Remove our troops. And place ourselves at the beck and call of whatever governance the Iraqi people manage to cobble together.

But this will never happen. We are not a humble nation(insert chant of USA USA here). And the NeoCon agenda has fanned the flames of that pride. We are taught to be number 1 by the Corporate media which translates to consume consume consume. It means turning our back on our fellow citizen in order to better ourselves. It means turning our back on our own humanity and embracing the social darwinism of the Corporate culture and freemarket mentality.

We will never appologise to the people of Iraq. We are not a humble nation.

1. A beautiful, beautiful picture..
our nation acting in humility toward those we have harmed.
But, as you say, not this prideful nation.

2. The thing that really grinds me
Is that the most fanatical in our nation are those that claim to embrace humility but there does not seem to be a hint of humility to be found in them.

3. Pride one of the 7 deadly sins
In fact, I am hard pressed to think of any country that practices the 7 deadly sins more than this "Christian nation".

:puke:

4. We're number 1! We're the greatest nation on earth!
We do no wrong because we are all about human rights - just look at our laws! Our intentions are always good! We're the liberation people! We save everybody!

Not humble at all but with every reason in the world to be humble.
