he would listen when they said they were tired of negative politics and give them what they asked for. i think that is why he approached it as he did. not attack dog. he did differ with the president, but he did it in the much more respectful manner. that is off the table now. he has acknowledge that he made that choice in 2004 and it was a wrong approach

For the last 3 years, every time the man speaks, somebody pops up with how strong and bold his comments are. He sounds exactly the same, every single time. Just goes to show how successful the right wing storyline about aloof confusing Kerry was.

he has been this for a while now, totally acknowledging his position in the election of not being negative, what he thought the people wanted, was a wrong position and has been making up for it since. it wasnt lack of spine in 2004. it was misjudgment trusting the people, listening to the people when they said they were tired of the dirty politics, giving them what they wanted, only to learn the are fickle and succumb to the dirty politics. not that kerry would resort to dirty, he isnt that person, one of the reasons i like him, but tough he can do, and do it well.
