Connecticut's SHAME - (I) Joe Lieberman

I so wish that we'd been able to send Ned. I wish he were up there ripping into Bush with the rest of them, instead of Lieberman standing there doing what he's doing, rubber-stamping Bush. "Connecticut for Lieberman", indeed. Sure as hell not all of us. :grr:

They, wisely, didn't run a legit candidate, allowing CT Republicans to defect and vote for Joementum. Had they run someone, we'd have Lamont.

There had to be a lot of Indys and Dems. I'm not from CT so this is just mho.

a third of the Democrats and half of the Independents. Republicans put him over the top.

It wasn't the Indys, they were pretty much evenly split. That 3/4 of the Repubs eschewed their party candidate makes Smokin' Joe by far the preferred Republican choice.

10. I don't know about a lot.

Connecticut went to Kerry by a 54-45 margin in 2004.

In 2006, Lieberman won by a 50-40-10 margin. If you're playing strictly by the numbers, which is admittedly unwise, all but 15% of his vote likely came from Republicans. So, about 85,000 Democrats/Independents stood with Lieberman in Connecticut, which isn't all that surprising.

4. don't disregard that 20-25 percent of democrats also voted for him in the general election.

It's a shame, but Lamont also didn't run a very effective campaign.

Lamont's campaign should have not been factored into their votes. Of course, I'm not from CT so it's very easy for me to second guess them, but again,
