Nancy Pelosi should be wearing black whenever she meets with bush...
about the future of his war and his record of failure & needless, innocent death; no lighter than deep blue indigo; save that 'power red' stuff for when they pop the cork if ever...it looks too out of place when bush is decided to be pig headed about being bush; which will be the case until the case for impeachment has been made against him

1. Excellent. And a lace mantilla and she should carry rosary beads.
I think the point would be well made.

3. All Federal buildings should have drapes of black until we have returned
to being a peaceful nation. We need to be deadly serious in showing our resolve to end this war and end the days of this selected presidency.

5. We should all wear black one day a week (maybe Fridays)until we bring troops home
Edited on Thu Jan-11-07 01:43 PM by Divernan
It would signify mourning for many things - our dead and injured troops; all the dead and injured Iraqis; the dead and tortured victims of U.S. rendition; our mortally wounded constitutional rights, our endangered environment; our deathly ill national deficit, etc.

9. That's a good idea.
Maybe if DUers start it, we could get it to spread sort of like an urban legend. It's like the MIA bracelets people wore during Vietnam. You couldn't help but notice that almost everyone was wearing them and it reminded you of what they stood for.

16. We could describe the effort as "Mourning in America."
Edited on Thu Jan-11-07 02:01 PM by Divernan
Are some DUers too young to recall the big GOP campaign slogan, "Morning in America" - it was for Regan wasn't it?

neck, especially if Cheney is anywhere nearby.

20. Absolutely--Pelosi's breaking new ground here. We're fighting not mourning.
Frankly I'm looking forward to the State of the Union Address. Shrub and Cheney are going to look like the dirty dogs they are. Pelosi will look strong and vibrant. I just hope she doesn't do the standing ovation thing every two minutes. It would be excellent if she sat there like a queen through the entire thing--unless Shrub says something the Democrats agree with.
