1. Well, if you remember, there was a break-in of an embassy

and letterhead was the only thing taken, and voila! Nigerian Government letter with acknowledgement of sales of yellowcake uranium to Iraq were hand-delivered to the White House. The computer theft makes sense from a modus operandi standpoint.
