If Bush does not Capitualte to the growing anger....
... of US citizens, the only real way to stop him will be to impeach.

It will be the only way.

1. I was with you on the other topic, but how can you make the case for impeachment?
We simply don't have the votes!

3. Keep passing a repeal of the IWR in Congress
Bush will veto it repeatedly until it passes with 2/3 majority.

Removing Bush from office and ending the Iraq war are two sides of the same coin. Logically there is no basis for voting yes on one and no on the other. No politician alive could successfully spin his way out of such a stark question.

4. It's becoming clear to conservatives...
...That Bushco does not have their real intrests in mind.

His right wing base is disinigrating and is fighting amoung themselves.

What else would they be able to do with a losse cannon?

Public opinion is going south for his BS very rapidly.

The point is coming soon were this will be apparent to those who have been shaded by hate.

5. Well, it's not the 'only' way, but it's the pressure relief valve put into the Constitution.
Edited on Thu Jan-11-07 03:24 PM by TahitiNut
Once upon a time, I heard someone describe elections and the Constitutional provisions for impeachment as "slow-motion revolution." The underlying axiom was that the threat of revolution was the ONLY check and balance on the predations of ANY government throughout history. I subscribe to this viewpoint. A "free people" must NEVER eliminate the possibility of revolution as their ultimate option. To do so is to live in chains.

Ultimately, a nation MUST work together to achieve it's goals unless it comes to the last resort of working together to achieve but a single goal: wiping out the 'leadership' in violent revolution.

This, I believe, is the concrete grounding for democracy. There is almost no MORE 'democratic' act than an uprising of all the people in revolution.

If we don't do it in 'slow-motion' then we'll ultimately be forced to do it in 'fast-motion.'
