VIDEO-Keith Olbermann-Special Comment-You, sir, have become the President who cried wolf.
Special Comment on the President’s Address
By: John Amato on Thursday, January 11th, 2007 at 7:06 PM - PST

You knew Keith was going to comment after Bush's disastrous speech last night. Most of America, many in Congress and Bush's own military leaders are against this move. I guess only the neocons matter to Bush. Being a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute seems to be more important than over 60% of the country. Keith takes it apart—bit by bit. It is surprising to see him speak out in back to back shows, but the situation obviously warranted it.

3. My thinking is statesmen should be in charge or this one. This
is hardly a 'war' for us and more like a country fighting each other I guess over how to go to prays and its oil. Why we have our army in the middle of it is just beyond me unless Bush is play with its toys and doing battles crossed the blankets as we did as children. Folly I heard this all called and could we have a better name?

12. I am sure Bush has found a 'bomb them to hell' person to use.
Most military people think in force to get things done. It is just how they are schooled. That does not get To me but when most Generals say we are not winning and send in no more troops, to find a few that want more war is really scary. Time Congress got a hold of this mess before Bush has the whole Middle East in the war. Like this was just to much. We are going to send money to clean up the streets? My God maybe we should go to Saudi and do that also. That place is like a pig pen in many places. Frankly we need our own money for things like bridges, and nat. Parks. We need to leave the Middle East NOW

2. Utterly awesome, but I think . . .
. . . instead of "Laura and Barney", he should have said "Jenna and Barbara".

5. Olbermann nails it, again.

The insanity, the frustration, the feeling of
dealing with someone who listens to no one-

Olbermann got it all in there.

Thank God we have Keith!!

9. The war in I raq was still in its first year
The war in I raq was still in its first year when many of us at DU were making the boy who cried wolf analogy. There were no WMDs, there were no ties to al Qaida, there was no threat wven to Iraq's weakest neighbor. The meme that Iraq was a threat to Israel, repeated loud and often by Israel's greatest supporters and bitterest critics alike, was utter nonsense. Iraq was not a not a threat to anybody. Not to the United States. Not to Israel. Not to anybody.

Keith Olbermann had that figured out long before last night, perhaps as early as we did. Nearly four years after the invasion of Iraq, even Republican senators are figuring out now.

Defund the war and impeach the bastards.
