Let's get "blocking" out in the open...
Skinner has said that we may eventually see block lists. Why wait? If you're being blocked by someone, put them in your sig line! Wear it like a badge of honor! This gives readers more information in deciding for themselves the merit of any given post. For ex.: Why is poster X never challenged by anyone? Is it because of the superiority of their thinking? Or is it because they block anyone who disagrees with them?

And if you're wondering whether this crosses the line of "calling out" other users, Skinner seems ok with:

Besides, if you're not proud enough of blocking someoneto let everyone know, you shouldn't do it.

1. I would except...
I'm already using up all the space in my sig line with my quotes. It won't allow me any more lines of text. And I'm not losing my quotes...particularly since 2 of them are from my favorite banned DUers.

But I'll tell anyone who wants to know. Considering who they are I'm actually kinda amused. :)

3. Feh. I don't think so.
Seems like a good idea to me, and not one that has caused any problems so far.

And CERTAINLY not one that requires us to be so petulant about it.

7. eh, just floating an idea.
maybe a goofy one, but I wanted to put it out there. But I did see an awfully petty use of it today.

5. well, like I said...
3 people blocked me today as a result of a thread where I took people to task over their use of sexist language. I have a long history of doing that and I don't plan to stop any time soon because I don't see the unrelenting sexism in our culture and language stopping any time soon. But some people believe free speech only applies to their right to say any obnoxious thing they want...they don't really believe it applies to my right to call them on it.

6. It's kinda like being the corporate media.
Block those whose opinions you don't agree with instead of substantially debating the issues.

10. Locking
Let's not encourage DUers to use their siglines to call one another out. Thanks,
