After all, Rumsfeld and Cheney--and all their immediate subordinates--were advising he continue with his plan. He took advice all right; he took advice from people who were just as incompetent and headstrong as he was. In fact, he surrounded himself with people who thought the same way he did. That isn't a refusal of advice by any means. Instead, it's a fundamental mistake: setting up an echo chamber. Unfortunately, his latest speech tells us the echo chamber still stands.
