Joe Lieberman gives Bush a pass on Katrina.
Sen. Joe Lieberman, the only Democrat to endorse President Bush’s new plan for Iraq, has quietly backed away from his pre-election demands that the White House turn over potentially embarrassing documents relating to its handling of the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans.

8. Lieberman's promise?
Maybe he is about to switch parties and thus change the balance of power in the Senate? I bet the admin would promise him a power position in the Senate. He sounds more and more like Bush these days. He really makes me ashamed of my Jewish heritage.

9. I just called
I just called Lieberman's DC office to complain. I said I have voted for Lieberman many times in the past, which is true, although I voted for Lamont last time, and am thoroughly disgusted with Joe. He can't be trusted to keep his word or protect the security of Americans I told the young lady who answered the phone.

I didn't want to yell at an office worker who just takes messages but I did ask if she was an intern or a full time employee. When she said she is full-time but "that is not pertinent" I said it says something very negative about her standards that she works for Lieberman. It seems that got to her because she immediately ended the phone call.

11. Doesn't Lieberman do this kind of thing...

...all the time? I seem to recall that in the past he has puffed out his chest and called for investigations and inquiries into Bush administration fuck-ups and malfeasance only to back down later. I'm a bit fuzzy on the details but it seems to me that this has happened before with him.
