Meanwhile...down at American Legion Post 312 (Oneco.Fla.)
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16581260/

ONECO, Fla. - Sheila Cobb watched the president's speech as only a mother, still grieving, could. Her only son, 19-year-old Marine Corps Pfc. Christopher Cobb, was killed in Iraq. She wanted to embrace the president's new plan; she could not.

"I don't think they need to send any more over there," she says. "I think they need to get it done, and get them out."

"Let them kill each other," says Tammy Statler. "Save us the time. Bring our kids home. Our kids don't need to be dying for someone who doesn't want them there."

"Nothing's going to be resolved," says senior Jessica Brown. "It's all just going to keep going on."

When my son died, there was over 800," says Sheila Cobb. "Now it's over 3,000. And it's going to keep going on and on and on."

At this American Legion post Wednesday night, they were listening hard, wanting to believe, but still wondering.

4. If Bush has lost that demographic....
he's lost it all. How can they ever hope to fill a venue for a speech with a hand-picked audience when they've lost their core supporters?
Stick a fork in Bush, he's done, And so are all of his hopes for anything else on the neo-con agenda for the rest of his pResidency.

5. Two points
First- if you read the article there is one guy who says you have to follow the POTUS regardless and, oddly, there is an artist who is anti-Bush who says you have to "finish the job" (clearly they found someone outside the Legion to balance it out)

Second- we shouldn't assume that anything affects their decision making other than their small inner circle. In fact since Bush has nothing left to lose he is more dangerous than ever.
