I ran into Keith (Olbermann) last night!
I was standing around near Rockefeller Plaza (NBC has their studios there), and all of a sudden I saw Keith walk out of the building! I've met him before, last year. But I was about 10 feet away so I shouted "Hey Keith...you ROCK! And BILL O'REILLY SUCKS!" He turned around and laughed and shouted back "Thanks!" And as he got into his car I shouted "Oh and Bush sucks too!"

That was awesome.

2. That's a TRUE brush with greatness!
The only celeb I've ever met at 30 Rock was Al Roker (while I was standing in line to get into a Conan taping)...

I s'pose so! Well he looks about the same to me, but certainly no worse!

He's pretty tall...6'4"ish I'd guess.

He got into a pretty regular black Towncar.

I shoulda mentioned DU or sumthin! But I didn't expect to see him so I wasnt thinking of what to say. :hi:

11. Very cool!
I would assume the car belongs to NBC and that they drive him to and from work.

He was at 30 Rock last night doing Countdown so that's why you saw him coming out. Normally he's been there on Thursdays and Fridays, although this past Thursday he did the show out of MSNBC in Secaucus, presumably because he was doing a Special Comment and they're more effective when he has multiple cameras than just one camera in a broom-closet-sized studio like he does now at 30 Rock. I hope when MSNBC moves his show over there for good, he gets a bigger studio.

12. Please do not publish details of Keith Olbermann's movements and travel.
We need to keep the man alive for as long as possible.

13. Sorry, I didn't think that constituted "details."
Believe me, I want to keep him alive too. But saying that he sometimes does his show out of 30 Rock is hardly a secret (it's been in the news that it will be moving there permanently) and it is hardly detailed. The fact that most of the time his show comes out of the MSNBC studios in Secaucus is hardly a secret either.

To mention these two details is hardly the equivalent of handing a Harry Potter-style "Marauders' Map" to anyone who might want to harm him. I would think they'd be able to figure those two facts out anyway. It's not the same as telling people where he lives, what restaurants he goes to, which stores he likes to frequent, etc. THAT would be a bit much.

20. It doesn't at all.

There was no call for the melodrama posted above about posting about his "movements and travel" etc and you did absolutely NOTHING wrong at all.

Seriously, if they wanted to go after him, it's not like they couldn't follow him and track his every movement, habit, friend, family member etc in excruciating detail. They'd hardly need to scour internet forums to look for his fans posting about bumping into him on the street. Sheesh. You've done absolutely nothing wrong at all, and it is AWESOME that you got to run into him!!!

(I'm jealous!)

I didn't realize that and I guess I haven't been around enough to distinguish between posters to know if it's a joke or not. If it was, my apologies if you were somehow offended by my post.

Edit - also, the person whose post I was responding to, BerryBush, didn't seem to see the melodramatic post above as a joke either and BerryBush has been around long enough a lot longer than me...

Oh, and I see that I also messed up in my post by thinking that BerryBush was the poster who ran into Keith but it was actually NYC Liberal. I guess that would qualify my post as a two-fer. Argh. :)

26. Well, I didn't realize it was meant as a joke
because it wasn't really presented as one from what I could see. Sorry if I offended anyone by assuming it was meant seriously.

18. From an old injury.
Around 1980, he was running for a subway car, and the (very tall) KO slammed his forehead into the subway door. It completely (and permanently) fucked up his depth perception, and now he can't drive.
