I believe that you and I have been the unwitting/unwilling participants in a political experiment and the result of the experiment has revealed that we will accept just about anything.
To wit, we are told that the president's approval rating is the "lowest ever" at 35%. We are told this by a media that doesn't "do" context; that reports, without question, that Al Qaeda's number two man was killed ten different times. So what makes people so quick to believe the rating is really 35%?
BushCo's power brokers know that Bush is probably the most unpopular president in history. I am sure that they marvel at the real disapproval numbers and Americans' lack of reaction to them. The worst president in American history flubs his way through two stolen terms, killing 100,000+ Iraqis and more than 3000 Americans; not even acknowledging the body count of Katrina victims while letting them rot in the streets...and people let him do so without very much opposition.
Sometimes, in dealing with bad situations, we are told to let time pass and the problem will clear itself up. That is not the way to deal with George W. Bush. If we don't stand up now and show that we will not accept the unacceptable, then Bush version 4.4 will be that much easier to roll out. Can you say pResident Jeb?
